What is the Helping Hands Committee?
We are a volunteer committee at Northview United Methodist Church available to serve our sick, shut-in and bereaved at the time of their individual needs.
Here are a few of the services we provide:
For illness and shut-in, we assist with providing transportation to doctor appointments, the pharmacy, grocery store, and other necessary needs. We ask that you please give the Committee Chairperson at least a 24-hour notice to make arrangements.
- Provide an occasional meal if needed.
- Upon death of a church member, we will serve a reception or meal following the service if requested by the family at the time funeral arrangements are made with the Pastor.
- Each Valentine Day and at Christmas, the committee remembers the sick and shut-ins by gifting them with an appropriate meal.
There are no church funds allotted to this committee. All food, transporation, and time is donated by Helping Hands members, and from the church congregation when requested. Monetary donations received are used for food and other expenses over and above that furnished by the volunteers.
**COME BE A VOLUNTEER WITH THIS SERVICE FOR OUR CHURCH FAMILY**
We need and welcome new members, both women and men, to share in this volunteer mission.
