Choosing the Faithful Path

Choosing the Faithful Path

Pastor Doug Sasser will be leading sessions for “Choosing the Faithful Path” on Mondays during the Fall of 2017.  A participant book will be available for $10.     Dates – Mondays from September 18 to November 13 Time – 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM Location – Seekers Classroom in the Family Life Center. Every seven years God, in Leviticus 25:8, instructs the people to observer a time of Jubilee.  This means the land will not be farmed and allowed to rest.  In the church, it is necessary to rest in the Lord and take an inventory of what God has put into our hands periodically.  This Fall will be our time of Jubilee. If you are interested in participating, please contact the church...

The Shack Group Discussions

The Shack Group Discussions

This fall, Northview United Methodist Church is offering a 10-week discussion group that will delve deeply into issues presented in the movie and the book “The Shack”. You will learn about the author’s reasons for writing the book, about his “great sadnesses” (yes, plural), and the healing journey that he has taken that led to his writing the book as a story for his children. Discussions include The Trinity, Relationships with The Trinity, handling grief and loss, God urges (we know them as coincidences), our image of God the Father, forgiveness and reconciliation, and more. During each session, we will view a 25-minute episode of “Restoring the Shack”, a weekly series by the William Paul Young, author of The Shack.  We are then allowing 30 minutes for group discussion of the topics that have been presented. Sessions begin Sunday 9/10/17 at 5 pm (or Tuesday 9/12/17 at 10 am) and are scheduled to end Sunday 11/12/17 (Tuesday 11/14/17). Click here for discussion schedule.
